(Confederate states) When we do title searches, they show up across the Southern states but I've never seen them in Northern states. That was well said Andrejka. I can agree from the standpoint that we can't be sure what kind of realm we are trapped in. We must keep on searching til we find the truth. Some find answers in books, others need to find it from reality itself. ... however the realm may disguise it.
You keep your faith, and I'll keep my skepticism ... we can always compare notes in the future.

Definitely, keep searching which sad to say is more than life long so called christians will do!
Know that God is big enough to answer all of your toughest questions too, so ask Him every last one. The most painful difficult ones. That is the whole point. God wants to interact with you, exactly how you are.

Regarding land patents. I worked for a long time in the mortgage industry. Land patents were only in the South I think. (Confederate states) When we do title searches, they show up across the Southern states but I've never seen them in Northern states. Mississippi and Texas had a lot of them as their original grant deed.
When you did the searches was it with scans? or physical documents?
Were the scans of the original patents? or did you hold the crumbly parchment in your hands?
Were the patents issued to single, named individuals?
Were they ever granted to groups or 'corporate' entities?
Were railroads ever named in such documents.

Before everything went online, we could get actual documents at court houses. That's exactly what title insurance companies did. They would also get copies and have their own databases. Remember microfiche? Patents were issued to all of the above except I don't know about railroads as I've never seen one that was issued to them. I've seen a bunch in Mississippi lately and they were all to individuals or family partnerships.
What's the reasoning behind this. Why are land patents a southern thing?
Ages ago when I heard about them from Ralph Winterrowd on RBN he gave the impression that Lincoln issued them for all westward expansion. Hard to say if they buried the inventions in the North because they didn't want a paper trail or what?
States just make laws and name things differently. Land patents are the original grant deeds and were granted by President Lincoln. (I've seen copies of some of them, they look really cool from an artistic and historical standpoint)
