If one is willing to make an investment (as I am) then Chromalux full spectrum artist's lightbulbs sold at Jerry's Arterama are worth it. I have used this brand for over 3 decades and can attest to their exceptionally long life. It is quite possible that they will be exempt due to their status as art supplies.
I like creative solutions to intractable problems.
I spent about a month hunting incandescents but in all of that time the A.I. denied me the knowledge that Jerrys even existed. And that's not for failing to go 20 pages deep in the serach returns or using multiple browsers. (although giraffes are not very skilled at internet searches).
I bought some full spectrums that were clear not tinted glass and must issue a caution to NOT look at the filament when you are testing to see if they are working. The negative afterimage burnt into my retinae stayed for a shockingly long time.
Whoever is interested should see if they will be exempted because the LED bodysnatching replacement is so complete that they have entire lines of daylight and grow lamp LED abominations so they might say that you still can't have the incandescents because there are energy saving alterNOTives.
When have these animals saved anything from energy to money?
These are frosted. They are also offered in clear, but I have always opted for the frosted. Following is the link to the company which is out of Finland.
That's the other thing that I didn't put in the post.
Finland (land of the midnight non-sun) had a lot of S.A.D. people
Seasonal Affective Disorder.
Lack of light will make you down.
The reason that these Chromalux bulbs are so expensive is that they are made with rare earth filaments so that they give off the frequencies more like what the sun USED to look like thus relieving that crushing depression of being in low light. But they are also expensive because whereas your typical dollar store bulb mass produced in Hungary (or they used to be) would last for maybe 700 hours if you were lucky, the Chromalux were rated at 3000 hours. I have bulbs that I bought 20 years ago so based on use the things still work.
