The "western world" emerged in scarcity. They accounted for the energy Each added - whether it was in eggs and wool, or in coinage. And out of that energy accounting came what We see today on Our vastly abundant planet.
The moneyed psychopaths in control are in control because They have the most of the energy accounting tokens. They can pay Others to do dirty work. Others can be desperate and will do things for the tokens.
I suggest that accounting for Our energy added is a very archaic practice. We now can access the abundance here, and have tech that will assist in keeping things running. (And live richly, ALL of Us.)
To hell with accounting for the energy We add when 80% of Us merely move energy accounting tokens, and free energy technologies exist, making the accounting for Our energy added quite pointless.
The moneyed psychopaths hide these techs, of course. They do not want to lose Their single tool to power.
You can't eat gold or silver (... people do...) so there is no point in having any money unless it has been converted to practical things like food, shelter, tools, etc. They can still try to take them, but it's easier to hit them with the hammer they're trying to steal --- wait...
