When I was in my early twenties I had a stretch of over a year where my menstrual cycle was aligned perfectly with the full moon every month. I always thought it was ridiculous that women would not have been counting their cycles back thousands of years ago, especially as timing the birth and spacing of children was a life and death matter within families. Hence December was statistically the least common birth month (I'm not sure that would apply in the Southern hemisphere though) as families hunkered down for the long dark winter...
The Babylonian Talmud tractate Niddah is about nothing but menstruation. The Hebrew priests were obsessed over it. So, yeah, for thousands of years even the men were engaged with the cycles.
Thankfully I never had to worry about being born in any inconvenient month --
I’ve read the Misnah Niddah it’s some pretty wacky stuff that sounds like it was straight up written by hardcore pedophile control freaks. Like the slightly controversial section where it says that if you have intercourse with a girl three years and one day old she can become your wife. Now don’t worry if she’s younger than that, having sex with a baby is the equivalent of poking a finger in the eye and no harm will be done. But yes they were all about the menstrual cycles. Did they actually consult a real woman when they wrote that crap?
Having been through a few menstrual cycles, I will say Mine were spot on 28 days. LOL!
And yes... They lie to Us at every opportunity!

I was found in a cabbage patch.
