Windfall is when the wind brings down apples and other fruit either at a stage of ripening before picking or before ripening. Windfall profits are …. well … read my Origin of Carbon Credits to unnerstan tribute to a military occupier but:
“A windfall profits tax is a one-time surtax levied on a company or industry when economic conditions result in large and unexpected profits. Inheritance taxes and taxes levied on lottery winnings can also be considered windfall taxes on individual profits.”
pretty much:
The wind blew.
The fruit fell.
Bend over.
in real life, unless a fruit is ripe, unless it wasn’t severely damaged when it contacted Terra Firma, then it represents a TOTAL LOSS.
Since I’ve counted my windfalls (you’ve got to pick them up to prevent disease and insects) I’ve got a pretty clear pick sure of how much damage has been done.
Several days ago, before the Canukian Breath-suck, I was out on a picturebook perfect day putting plastic sandwich bags on my set-fruit to protect them against… disease and insects. I had already done that at the beginning of the season but had noticed a few stragglers that I missed. I put on 81 new bags.
Because we are in a SIM the very next day was a VIOLENT windstorm that blew off:
40 apples in bags
123 apples unbagged
So I spent an entire (yet enjoyable day with no bugs flying in my ears) day for only half of the return. I say: no bugs because the old Army Field Manual for soldiers says:
”If you enter an area and you do not hear bird or insect sounds, proceed with caution.”
“If you enter an area and you see dead birds and insects on the groud DO NOT ENTER!”
Typically I wear a French Foreign Legion kinda headdress to keep the sun off of my bald globe, ears (pharmwhores in the 1970s used to have their ears clipped like Dobermans for the skin cancer) and back of my Red Neck. That day I din’t because the sun was chemtrailed into submission and THERE WERE NO INSECTS.
This is ILLIFREAKINOIS ! There’s more insects per square centimeter than there are humans per square mile! Well, used to be. Your overlords, in their wiz dumb think that borgsects will replace pollinators. Hell, for the past 5 years running Blue and Green Bottle flies (carrion flies - dead flesh eaters) were pollinating my crops for lack of any other bug.
Butt wear was eye?
Oh yeah, half of my effort erased by a SIM wind and the other 123 fruity pebbles were ones that I couldn’t reach without a professional ladder.
Lettuce talk about what Your Masters did to the supply chain:
Now an Orchard Ladder is a unique beast and by nature it has to be stout and relatively heavy. The price was around $500 that I would not balk at if I had the moany, but something like that is unattainable due to the freight cost being….
$500.
This is insult on injury since with Most Favored Nation trading status: China (the Receivers of the Bankrupt US Coporation) are given OVERSEAS SHIPPING PRIVILEDGES of posting ANYTHING FOR A FREE KING PENNY!
When it costs $40+ USD to get a package to Chinada regardless of the cost the content, Child Labor abusing companies in the Land of Maw Say Dung were getting entire Amazon orders sent to your door for a penny!
Howinthehell did I get into Overlord politics?
Oh, yeah… $500 shipping.
So, I let quite a number of apples go unbagged this season for safety reasons. Not to worry: ALL FALL DOWN.
Keep in mind that windstorms are the stock-in-trade of ILL In Noid, however, the Overlord’s success at destroying fruit set and yeild to 33% means that each extra whack at the tree with an axe takes away the ability of one to keep oneself in apple sauce. I laugh at the preppers who kept their Hair Loom seeds in the back window of their SUV for when they have to bug-out and wait 3 months to grow radishes in a State of National park that will be patrolled by drones.
None of this is without precidence. The Romans used to practice Scorched Earth where they would burn everything: homes, people, crops and then SALT the ground so that nothing could grow.
Thinguvit is: It’s still the Romans, it’s still their Third Reign, and the motherfuckers aren’t going to stop until you stop them.
On topic:
Insects around the farm here in south Scandinavia has in my view dwindled the last couple of years..
As ain't aunt patty already sublimes us in mentioning; it is phar (-m) more whores around spraying pesky pesktelinze then is good for for better of the good of the few good soles still around..
As patty probably will agree I picked up from another hyper smart guy on internet, a man almost equally as hardly censored as our dear s:t patty is:
Glyphosate was by him mentioned as to accumulate in the oceans and being non degradeable of sorts making this smart dude mention that phyto planktons et al will in time be blocked in lesser or greater extent from growing..
Plankton is the base floor of eatable substance for the "hey y'all lets eat all them others" in the ecological food chains..
It's gotten to the point where you might think there is some terraforming purpose in mind? They are poisoning the planet for what now exists here. I believe millimeter waves are doing as much damage as anything. Maybe this is really like They Live but with no glasses to literally see it. Seriously though, if they are the same carbon based life we are this is all poisoning THEM too. What are they getting out of it that makes it worth spending the last 25 years or more dumping toxic metal nanoparticles out of planes that are slowly killing everything? How could this ever be remediated even if they stopped now? What I'm hearing is that alkalinity is on the rise everywhere and that the areas where the vegetation is dependent on acid conditions has been the most affected. Where I live everything is adapted to high alkalinity so we aren't seeing this damage to vegetation yet. WTF are THEY really up to?
